My name is Jack Bartlett.
For as long as I can remember, telling stories, specifically about sports, was the only way I felt I could connect with people. Since the age of six-years-old, I've considered the industry of sports journalism, and myself as an ultimate sports nerd. At an early age, whenever I stayed with my grandparents, I woke up and immediately picked up their newspaper to read the sports section. It was also around that time that my mom started a monthly subscription for Sports Illustrated for me. I still have a collection of my favorites at home. I would retell stats, stories, and crazy plays from the night before to anyone that would listen. Since then, I've found the true beauty and passion behind sports: resilience, connection, and real-life impacts. This led me to pursue a sports journalism major at the prestigious Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University. Through trial, practice, the classroom, and experience, I've learned valuable information, formed essential and key professional relationships, and been able to grow my brand as a journalist and broadcaster.
I also learned at a young age that I love to perform. My hobbies include music (any genre), such as singing, playing the piano, and a little bit of theatre. I also am an avid fan of the outdoors. As a kid, my parents used to take me and my brother skiing in the winter and hiking in the summer up in the Rocky Mountains. My great-grandma taught me the essence and patience of bird-watching, and my grandpa and I have gone fishing a handful of times, in addition to our fun adventures on the family farm which include four-wheeler and tractor rides, driving to from the various farms and plots of land we own outside of St. Joseph, MO, and several other farming activities.
